MLS Cup Playoffs Wrap: New England, Los Angeles storm into Conference Finals

Sunday's twinbill of conference semiifinal second legs in the MLS Cup Playoffs produced two of the most imperious postseason performances we've seen in a long time.

New England and Los Angeles simply steamrolled their opponents, Columbus and Salt Lake respectively, to book places in the Conference Final round. And it was of no small consequence that both teams' attacking stars were at the forefront, especially the Revs' Lee Nguyen and the Galaxy's Landon Donovan.

Three-fourths of the conference final matchups are set: New England vs. New York and Los Angeles vs. Seattle or Dallas. The final piece of the Final Four puzzle will be put in place Monday night, when the Sounders host Dallas at CenturyLink Field (10:30 p.m., NBCSN and Univision Deportes).

Here are all the highlights from Sunday's action.

New England Revolution: Lee Nguyen 43', José Gonçalves 55', Teal Bunbury 77'
Columbus Crew: Tony Tchani 69'

New England advanced by a 7-3 aggregate score. Enjoy the vocal stylings of old-school MLS hand Max Bretos on the play-by play for ESPN, alongside former Philadelphia Union forward and color analyst Alejandro Moreno.

Los Angeles Galaxy: Landon Donovan 10', Robbie Keane 20', Landon Donovan 54', Marcelo Sarvas 63', Landon Donovan 72'

Los Angeles advanced by a 5-0 aggregate score. And for the record, Donovan assisted on Keane's goal, while Keane assisted on Sarvas' and two of Donovan's.
