Live chat: 2012 Major League Soccer All-Star Game

MLS All-Star and Chelsea FC players chat at the Independence Visitor Center on Tuesday. (Brynn Anderson/AP)

Kickoff Time: 8:50 p.m. EDT
Venue: PPL Park, Chester, Pa.
TV/Radio/Online: ESPN2 and (English), Telefutura and ESPN Deportes Radio (Spanish), TSN (English in Canada) and RDS (French in Canada). All broadcasts start at 8:30 p.m. EDT.

Welcome to an evening that should produce a real spectacle for soccer fans across the Philadelphia region.

Yes, this game is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. But more than anything else, it is a reward for all of you who have packed PPL Park since it opened two years ago.

Does the result matter? Of course, especially from the MLS side. The All-Star team has gotten whacked pretty hard by Manchester United the last two years.

ESPN2 will produce the host feed. Adrian Healey and Taylor Twellman will call the game, with Mónica González on the sideline and Max Bretos, Alexi Lalas and Kasey Keller at an on-site studio set.

Telefutura will have reporter Ivan Kasanzew live on site. Commentators Jorge Pérez-Navarro and Diego Balado will the game from the network’s Miami studio. Fernando Fiore, the network’s host for its major sports broadcasts, is in Philadelphia but I don’t know if he’ll be on air for this.

ESPN Deportes Radio will have its entire commetary team of Kenneth Garay, Diego Cora and Elmer Polanco at PPL Park. There is not any English-language radio broadcast that I know of.

TSN will carry ESPN2’s broadcast, and will not use any of its own talent.

RDS will have reporter Patrick Friolet live on site. Host Michel Lacroix and commentators Jean Gounelle and Patrick Leduc will call the game from the network’s studio in Montréal.
