Gold Cup final at Lincoln Financial Field is sold out

Updated Wednesday night, for an obvious reason.

CONCACAF announced Wednesday afternoon that Sunday's Gold Cup final at Lincoln Financial Field (7:30 p.m, Fox Sports 1 and Univision) is sold out.

The organization expects a crowd in excess of 66,000 to be in attendance. Capacity is 69,176 for Eagles games, but because of media arrangements and VIP seating it's not known exactly how many tickets were made available to the public.

Parking lots will open at 2:30 p.m., and HeadHouse Plaza will open at 3:30 p.m. with a pregame fan zone. Gates will officially open at 6:00.

In addition, Univision's "Republica Deportiva" studio show will broadcast a special edition live from the stadium at 3 p.m., though I don't know exactly where the set will be.

(Never mind.)

The current attendance record for soccer in Philadelphia is 68,396. It was set at the Manchester United-Barcelona friendly that christened the Linc in 2003.

(As I said above: Never mind.)
