Games to Watch: EPL, Champions League, U.S.-Mexico

Manchester City at Arsenal

1:30 p.m. Saturday (NBCSN)

Arsenal's last two Premier League games have been arguably their most embarrassing of the season: a 6-0 blowout loss at Chelsea and a 2-2 home draw with Swansea City. With the Gunners' title hopes in tatters, Olivier Giroud and company host a city squad that's still in the thick of the fight. Another bad result could see fans in North London turn hostile on longtime manager Arsène Wenger.

Chicago Fire at D.C. United

4:00 p.m. Saturday (NBCSN)

The buzz for this game should be about the matchup between two American scoring stars, Chicago's Mike Magee and D.C.'s Eddie Johnson. Instead, it's a must-win for a pair of winless teams. United especially need a result to take some pressure off Ben Olsen, a Middletown native.

Tottenham Hotspur at Liverpool

11:00 a.m. Sunday (NBCSN)

Liverpool haven't been champions of England since 1990, before the Premier League as we know it was even founded. Thanks to the incredible forward partnership of Luis Suárez and Daniel Sturridge, this could finally be the Reds' year. They've combined to score 48 goals in 31 games.

Bayern Munich at Manchester United

2:00 p.m. Tuesday (Fox Sports 1)

For as much as Wayne Rooney and United have struggled in the Premier League, they've managed to reach the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The Red Devils' run might not last much longer, though. Arjen Robben and Bayern Munich are Europe's biggest powerhouse. The reigning champs look ready to become the first ever team to win back-to-back titles.

Mexico at United States

11:15 p.m. Wednesday (ESPN, UniMás)

Time is running out for players to make their case to be on the World Cup squad. What better way to prove a point to Jurgen Klinsmann than in a test against America's fiercest rival? Expect the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., to be packed with fans of both teams, creating a big-time atmosphere.

Among the players with the most to prove is Union midfielder Maurice Edu. His ability to play multiple positions on defense could get him a spot on the plane to Brazil. Also watch for 18-year-old Bayern Munich forward Julian Green, a prospect who switched to the U.S. after growing up in Germany's youth system.
