Celtic ready to face the Union

It's always cool when an international team faces an MLS side, and even more so when the visitors are willing to play at a smaller, soccer-specific stadium.

This game should be a fun one. It's always cool when an international team faces an MLS side, and even more so when the visitors are willing to play at a smaller, soccer-specific stadium.

I suspect that there will be a fair amount of green and white in the stands, because Celtic have a huge fan base in the United States - including here in Philadelphia. I still remember when they played Manchester United here in 2004, and all the hooped shirts that were in the stands at Lincoln Financial Field that night. There was even a pregame ceremony honoring the team at City Hall.

That's not the case this time, though. The Union will definitely be the home team, and I have it on good authority that the Sons of Ben have a few chants cooked up for the occasion.

I'll be hosting a live chat from PPL Park, and if you aren't going to the game I hope you'll join me.

Until then, check out audio of Celtic's pregame press conference below. There are interviews with manager Neil Lennon, defender Glenn Loovens and newly-signed midfielder Joe Ledley.

Ledley is so new to the team that this week is literally his first one with the team. He got his picture taken with his jersey after the press conference, and I think that was as much of a signing ceremony as there's going to be.

But he comes with a fair bit of experience for being 24 years old: six seasons at Cardiff City and 32 caps for Wales, including two games as captain.

In addition to the audio, there's a video in the player at right with press conference highlights and clips from Celtic's practice at the NovaCare Center.

And finally, here's the SEPTA train schedule for the 8 p.m. kickoff. I've formatted this one a bit differently. Let me know what you think of it.
