Carli Lloyd scored her first ever goal in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday for Manchester City. It proved a decisive goal too, as City won 1-0 at Denmark's Fortuna Hjørring in the first leg of their quarterfinal series.

Lloyd tallied in the 36th minute, leaping high to head in a cross delivered from the left wing by Jane Ross.

The Delran native and U.S. women's soccer team captain is on loan at Manchester City through early June. She'll return to her National Women's Soccer League team, the Houston Dash, after that.

Her next stint with the national team will be in early April, when the Americans play a two-game series against Russia in Frisco and Houston, Texas. Lloyd was named Thursday to a 24-player training camp roster that will convene on March 30 ahead of games on April 6 and 9.

You can watch video of Lloyd's goal below, at least for now. If the copyright police pull it, the video above is a full-game replay from Fortuna Hjørring's official YouTube page. Jump to the 1:16:17 mark.
