CONCACAF Wrap: Montréal makes history with draw at Pachuca

Even though they've only been part of Major League Soccer since 2012, the Montréal Impact have a long and rich history in the CONCACAF Champions League. On Tuesday night, they wrote another famous chapter.

Even though they've only been part of Major League Soccer since 2012, the Montréal Impact have a long and rich history in the CONCACAF Champions League. On Tuesday night, they wrote another famous chapter.

Thanks to a pair of goals from Dilly Duka, the Impact secured a 2-2 draw at Pachuca in the first leg of their CCL quarterfinal series. It was the first time ever that a Canadian team got a result in Mexico.

The second leg of the series will be played next Tuesday in Montréal at Olympic Stadium. The venue's artificial surface should give the Impact even more of a home field advantage.

Six years ago today, the Impact drew 55,571 fans to the Big O as a second-division team for a Champions League quarterfinal against Santos Laguna.

As of now, it doesn't look like this year's crowd will be that big. But maybe the first leg result will help conjure up some of that old magic.

Here are the highlights and summaries from Tuesday's action.

Pachuca: Heriberto Olvera 56', Ariel Nahuelpán 68'
Montréal Impact: Dilly Duka 25', Dilly Duka 53'

Olimpia: Javier Estupiñan 45'
Herediano: Cristian Lagos 58'
