CONCACAF Champions League: Carlos Ruiz scores for Municipal
Remember former Union striker Carlos Ruiz? I bet you do.
The itinerant Guatemalan is back with the club where his career began, Municipal in his native Guatemala. El Pescadito is now in the 20th season of a pro career that has spanned 11 different clubs - including five in MLS - as well as the Guatemalan national team.
On Thursday, Ruiz did something he had never done in his career before: score a goal in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Ruiz struck from the penalty spot in Municipal's 1-1 draw with Real España. In the night's other matchup, Herediano routed Isidro Metapán, 4-0, with former Union midfielder Gabriel Gómez playing all 90 minutes.
