WWE releases Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) from contract

WWE has released developmental talent Kassius Ohno, according to a report from Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net.

Ohno, whose real name is Chris Spradlin, wrestled in the independent scene for years as Chris Hero.

During his independent run, he was a part of a popular tag team called the Kings of Wrestling alongside Claudio Castagnoli, who is now Antonio Cesaro in WWE.

The 33-year-old signed a developmental deal with WWE in February of 2012, but never appeared on either of the main shows.

According to Powell, Spradlin and WWE were at odds at some point during this past summer over what the company saw as his lack of commitment to the strength and conditioning program.

No indications have been given yet on whether this had something to do with him being outright released.
