WWE officially announces signing of Japanese wrestling star Kenta

The WWE officially announced the signing of Japanese wrestling star Kenta during a live event in Osaka, Japan Saturday.

Kenta signed a developmental contract with the WWE, which means he will become a part of the NXT roster and will move to Orlando, Fla. to train at the WWE Performance Center.

Kenta signed his contract with WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan Jimmy Hart there to endorse the occasion.

Kenta has spent the majority of his career wrestling for Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan, where he became one of the more respected wrestlers in the world.

Aside from his work in Japan, Kenta has also worked in the United States, namely for Ring of Honor.

"Kenta is an incredible performer who brings the crowd to its feet when he steps into the ring," said WWE Executive Vice President "Triple H" Levesque. "WWE's signing of Kenta reflects out continued dedication to creating a diverse roster that appeals to our global fan base."

"I am humbled to join WWE's NXT division and look forward to honing my craft with the global leader in sports-entertainment," Kenta said.
