WWE announces the return of 'Tough Enough', wins Webby Award

WWE announced that its reality show Tough Enough would be making a return during its quarterly stockholder conference call Thursday.

The popular reality series last aired in 2011 on the USA Network with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin serving as host and head trainer. He and fellow trainers Booker T, Trish Stratus and Bill DeMott trained the contestants where the winner earned a developmental contract with WWE.

Despite seeing some ratings success, the show was not brought back for another season. Austin himself has said on multiple occasions that it puzzled him as to why the show was not picked up for a sixth season. The latest season of the show is expected to air on WWE Network.

WWE also announced Thursday that the WWE App had won the People's Choice Award in the Sports Mobile & Apps category at the Webby Awards. WWE won the award by virtue of a fan vote.
