WWE NXT results and observations (7/26/17): Hideo Itami's turn to the dark side is now complete

Hideo Itami's heel turn was completed on this week's episode of NXT.

Ever since Itami lost to Bobby Roode at NXT Takover: Chicago, he has been very surly and more aggressive in the ring.

Itami's poor attitude eventually drew the ire of Ohno, which brought about this match.

As expected, Ohno threw a lot of punishing elbows and Itami threw a lot of devastating kicks, but his most brutal kick was an illegal one, as he kicked Ohno in the family jewels and was promptly disqualified.

Itami didn't stop the onslaught after the match, as he hit Ohno with the GTS twice before dropping him face first onto the steel steps.

In the women's division, Ember Moon defeated Lei'D Tapa. Tapa started off the match by using her power to gain the advantage. However, Moon recovered quickly and finished off Tapa with the eclipse.

After the match, Moon told the fans at Full Sail that she was ready for another match against NXT Women's champion Asuka and wanted it to happen at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.

Later in the show, NXT William Regal made the match official.

In the tag team division, Nikki Cross prevented the Authors of Pain from completing their entrance for a match against David Ramos and Timothy Bumpers, who were already in the ring.

Cross' running mates in Sanity, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe, jumped into the ring and attacked Ramos and Bumpers before tossing them to the side.

The Authors of Pain then marched to the ring and fought Dain and Wolfe. After the dust was settled, the Authors of Pain were left standing tall in the ring while Dain and Wolfe retreated backstage.

As for next week, Johnny Gargano will finally return to the ring, as he will face Raul Mendoza. Here are the full match results:

- Ember Moon def. Lei'D Tapa

- The Velveteen Dream def. Cezar Bononi

- Kassius Ohno def. Hideo Itami via disqualification
