WWE NXT results and observations (3/15/17): Bobby Roode defends the crown

The main event of NXT Takeover: Orlando was set Wednesday night, as Bobby Roode will defend his NXT championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a rematch from their encounter at NXT Takeover: San Antonio.

Roode made the match official after he defended his title by fending off a tough challenge from Kassius Ohno.

While Roode is moving on to greener pastures, Ohno will face Elias Samson next week in a match where the loser has to leave NXT.

Another match that was made official for NXT Takeover: Orlando was the NXT Tag Team title match, as the Authors of Pain will defend said titles against The Revival and #DIY in a triple threat elimination match.

Elsewhere, Sanity's Nikki Cross made quick work of Macy Estrella thanks to six swinging neck breakers.

Sanity celebrated Cross' dominant victory in the ring, but No Way Jose and Tye Dillinger crashed the party by attacking the crazed group.

However, the numbers game quickly caught up to Dillinger and Jose, as Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain overwhelmed them once again.

Later in the show, it was announced that Roderick Strong was healed up from the beating he received from Sanity last week and will join Dillinger and Jose in a six-man tag team match against Young, Wolfe and Dain.

Here are the full match results:

- Authors of Pain def. The Ealy Brothers

- Nikki Cross def. Macy Estrella

- NXT championship – Bobby Roode def. Kassius Ohno
