WWE Monday Night Raw results and observations (6/19/17): Big Cass has had enough of Enzo Amore

Monday Night Raw this week felt every bit like a three-hour show that dragged on and one, but it still managed to provide some moments that I found to be very entertaining.

That may sound weird to some, but that is how I genuinely felt about this week's edition of Raw.

There were points where I looked at the clock and scoffed how much time was left in the show, but when I look back at the show in its entirety, it actually wasn't half bad.

As a matter of fact, the show was actually pretty good considering that it took forever to complete.

Before I delve any deeper into the show, here are the full match results from the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.:

Big Cass is done with Enzo Amore

As the song goes, it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday, and that is exactly what I was thinking during the final segment of Raw when Big Cass was revealed as the person that attacked Enzo Amore multiple times in recent weeks.

When Big Cass finally admitted that he was the one that laid out his pal backstage, all I could think about were the good times he and Amore had that were now going to be simply memories of days gone by.

It looked like Amore was thinking the same thing, as when Big Cass berated his longtime tag team partner about how obnoxious he was, Amore literally shed a tear in one of the most heart-wrenching moments on WWE television in a while.

Given Amore's real-life friendship with Big Cass, Monday's segment felt very real and I'm sure Amore's anguish hit home with a lot of viewers watching at home.

How did we get to this point?

Well, Raw general manager Kurt Angle vowed during the show that he would get to the bottom of the attacks by the end of the night.

Turned out that Angle was a man of his word, as he went to the ring and called out Amore and Big Cass. Angle then called out Big Show and The Revival, whom he considered to be the prime suspects.

Angle confronted Big Show, who angrily denied having any part in the attacks and abruptly left the proceedings in a huff at the notion that Angle would even consider him a suspect.

Angle then went The Revival, who admitted that they're not the best people in the world, but this time, they were innocent.

That was when the sleuthing Corey Graves interrupted the proceedings and provided whom he thought was behind the attacks, and that person was Big Cass.

Graves even presented visual evidence that Big Cass was never attacked the week before in the form of security footage from the arena.

The footage showed Big Cass setting up the supposed crime scene to make it look like he had been attacked and lying down so that someone could find him in a heap.

Once Graves presented the damning evidence, Big Cass copped to his misdeeds and then proceeded to scold his now former best friend on all of the sins he committed while they were together.

Big Cass cut this impassioned promo about how much he hated picking up the slack that Amore constantly left. He talked about how everyone else in the locker room hated Amore and how he had to always shield him from that.

Big Cass went as far as to say as Amore's mouth constantly wrote checks that his butt could not cash, and because Big Cass had to protect Amore so much, he blamed him for never being a champion in WWE.

While Big Cass was cutting the promo of his life, Amore perfectly wore the sorrow on his face. He not only looked surprised that his friend would turn his back on him in this manner he also looked despondent, traumatized even.

While Amore was in disbelief as to what was unfolding, Big Cass finished his fiery speech by kicking Amore in the head and walking out of the arena.

I thought this segment was well done by everyone involved. Maybe it wasn't the right time to break the entertaining duo up, but that is something no one will truly know until much time has passed.

But for now, let us take a look back at what Big Cass and Amore were able to accomplish while they were together.

While they never won tag team gold, even going back to their days in NXT, they were one of the acts that helped make NXT the thriving brand it is today.

Although they never won the NXT titles, fans thought it would be a certainty that they would win titles on the main roster.

That didn't happen either, but they quickly won over the fans and provided a number of memorable segments and promos during their time together.

It was fun while it lasted and that is the one thing I'll think of when looking back at this pairing  — it was a lot of fun. They had chemistry in spades and played off each other so well.

I know some fans had hoped that they would eventually win championships together, but the fact that they didn't made their segment from Monday night carry that much more weight.

Braun Strowman is not finished yet

Either Strowman has incredible healing powers like John Cena or WWE made his injury seem a lot worse than it reported because the monster among men returned Monday night and pummeled Reigns before challenging him to an ambulance match Great Balls of Fire.

WWE announced that Strowman would miss up to six months after receiving elbow surgery back in May. A little more than a month later, Strowman is already back in action.

That aside, it was definitely nice to have Strowman back and apparently I wasn't alone in that feeling, as he received a massive ovation when he popped out of that ambulance on Raw.

As nice as it is to see Strowman back on television, I do not expect him to defeat Reigns at Great Balls of Fire. That is because Reigns opened the show by announcing that he wants the winner of the Brock Lesnar-Samoa Joe match at Great Balls of Fire in a Universal title match at SummerSlam.

If WWE is going to put Reigns in a Universal championship match at its second-biggest show of the year, I doubt the company would book him to lose an ambulance match the month before.

Seth Rollins is the man of WWE 2K18

Monday was good day for Rollins.

Early in the day he was officially announced as the cover athlete for WWE 2K18. He then went to Raw and cut what I thought was one of the best promos he has done since turning babyface last year.

To top it all off, he got to get one over on Bray Wyatt to further their ongoing feud.

It must be nice to be Rollins.

Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas join The Miz's entourage

It also must be nice to Axel and Dallas because they're finally going to play a role on WWE television apparently.

The Miz recruited the former Social Outcasts members to join his entourage early in the show. They apparently took the Intercontinental champion up on his offer because when The Miz attempted to kiss and make up with Maryse, which he failed at, Axel and Dallas were dressed up as two bears.

When Ambrose predictably attempted to crash the party, Axel and Dallas ambushed Ambrose and helped The Miz stand tall.

Although I would love to see Dallas join his brother, Bray Wyatt, this is much better than he and Axel sitting at the end of the bench not getting used.

Both Dallas and Axel have talent and it's nice to see that WWE is going to use it for something. Anything.

The women had to wait a while

By the time the final hour of Raw rolled around, I began to realize that there hadn't been a women's match up until that point.

In fact, there was only one female sighting on the show and that was Maryse during her segment with The Miz.

Other than that, there were no active wrestlers from the women's division on the show.

Don't worry, those women eventually got their screen time and it turned out to be very uneventful.

The lack of time isn't the biggest crime committed against the women's division because what the women got Monday night would have been seen as progress five years ago.

Rather it is the lack of direction that is hurting the women's division the most.

It just seems like WWE has no idea what to do with the women on Raw at the moment. I'm not sure WWE even knows what it wants the women to do at Great Balls of Fire, let alone SummerSlam.

On the flip side you have Smackdown Live, who although it ruffled a few feathers with the first-ever women's Money in the Bank ladder match, it still seems to have some idea of where it wants to go moving forward.

I cannot say the same for Raw.
