WWE Hell in a Cell 2013 results: Dean Ambrose retains United States Championship via countout

Since Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel was unable to wrestle due to an injury, Big E Langston was put against Dean Ambrose for the United States title

Langston instantly took control of the match by using his power advantage.

Ambrose tried his best to mount some offense by hitting some knife-edge chops against the stronger Langston, but none of it seemed to have an effect.

Langston slowed down Ambrose with a bear hug until Ambrose used a thumb to the eye to escape. Langston backed into a corner when Ambrose ran after him.

Langston countered Ambrose by flipping him out of the ring. Ambrose looked like he tweaked his knee on the fall.

Ambrose countered Langston on the outside of the ring, however, and took control of the match once the combatants got back inside the ring.

Langston eventually powered his way back into the match and gained a couple of near falls for his efforts.

Ambrose had enough by this point and attempted to walk out of the match, but Langston chased him down and brought him back to the ring.

Ambrose jumped on Langston before he could get back in the ring and hit a DDT. Ambrose went for a pin, but came away with only a two-count.

Ambrose went after Langston again and missed a second time, as he went shoulder first into the ring post. Langston then threw caution to the wind as he speared Ambrose though the ropes in a move that sent both men flying to the outside of the ring.

Neither man answered the referee's 10-count and the match ended in a double count out.

After the match, Langston hit Ambrose with the big ending and stood over him with the United States title.
