TNA Wrestling announces multi-year agreement with Japanese television carrier

TNA Wrestling announced via press release that it reached a multi-year agreement with Nippon Television Corporation (NTV) to continue to be its program carrier in Japan.

TNA began airing TNA Impact, its monthly pay-per-views and its One Night Only events on NTV channel G+ in January of this year.

In Japan, TNA Impact airs every Saturday night at 10 p.m., where it airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. here in the United States.

"TNA Impact Wrestling has enjoyed phenomenal success during our first year of broadcast of Japanese television and we are very excited about this new multiple-year commitment with Nippon Television's G+," TNA executive vice president Andy Barton said in the press release.

"It's another example of the success we are enjoying around the world, which also includes new deals in France and Portugal and a very successful launch on Sony SIX in India."

According to the release, G+ also airs NFL, NASCAR, MotoGP, international soccer and Japan's Yomiuri Giants.
