Some updates on WWE's plans for WrestleMania 30
WWE is currently hard at work at securing some specific talents for the milestone WrestleMania XXX in April, according to F4WOnline.com.
None of the matches are set in stone at this point, as they hinge on whether the company can iron out a couple of agreements with some big-name talents, namely Sting and Goldberg.
It has already been reported that the WWE has inquired about Goldberg's services and the company is apparently still pursuing Sting. Sting's contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire soon.
If Sting chooses not to re-sign with TNA, WWE would want to book him into a match with the Undertaker — a match that has been rumored for years now.
As far as Goldberg, WWE still wants him to go up against Ryback. If the WWE is unable to secure Goldberg, then Ryback would reportedly face Big Show at WrestleMania instead.
CM Punk is reportedly in line to win the Royal Rumble in January and would go on to face Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
However, there is also talk of the Royal Rumble winner possibly facing the holder of the World Heavyweight Champion.
That begs the question: Where would that leave Daniel Bryan? According to the report, Bryan is currently in line to face his former trainer Shawn Michaels, who would come out of retirement four years after hanging up his boots.
The current plan for Goldust and Cody Rhodes is for Goldust to turn on his little brother at some point, which would lead to a match between the two in New Orleans.
What isn't currently in the plans is for Triple H to return to the ring at the event. His feud against Big Show is not expected to culminate at the show. A match between the two is expected some time before WrestleMania.
Triple H against a returning "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a fight for control of the company isn't expected to happen either. Austin was apparently supposed to represent Vince McMahon in that storyline.
