Report: CM Punk taking impromptu break from WWE

WWE superstar CM Punk has decided to take an impromptu break from the company, according to the Wrestling Observer.

This comes after the Observer reported that CM Punk had been removed from all of the WWE live events for the next "several weeks."

CM Punk participated in the Royal Rumble match Sunday where he lasted nearly 50 minutes. Kane, who in storyline works for the Authority and did not want to see him win the match, eliminated him.

CM Punk took part in an interview with MMAFighting.com before the Royal Rumble where he revealed that his contract with WWE expires in July and was unsure of whether he was going to re-sign with the company once it runs out.

Then comes Monday night, when he thanked all the fans for their support on Twitter.

Thanks for all the support. Keep being you guys, it's pretty cool.

CM Punk was noticeably absent from Raw Monday. So was Kane for that matter. According to the Pro Wrestling Torch, however, CM Punk was left off the show after a series of rewrites to the program. He then told WWE CEO Vince McMahon that he was going home.

According to PWInsider.com, CM Punk was upset about the direction he and the overall company was going in.

Either this is an elaborate storyline or this is some horrible timing for WWE. CM Punk is one of the main players on the WWE roster and will seemingly be an integral part of WrestleMania XXX, which takes place April 6.

On television, WWE has already began to build to the milestone event and would want CM Punk to be on board to help in that.

Philly.com has reached out to WWE for confirmation on CM Punk's status, but we have yet to hear back from the company.

We will update as soon as we receive some new information.
