Recapping Stone Cold Podcast with Paul Heyman

The third installment of the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network took place Monday night, and Steve Austin's special guest was none other than the advocate for Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman.

If you're a consistent listener to Austin's podcast, you have probably heard him and Heyman have multiple conversations over the course of the past year.

Despite that, Austin and Heyman still managed to bring some new things to the table.

We must first begin with how the podcast ended, which was with Austin cutting a classic promo on why he would beat Lesnar at WrestleMania if the match were ever to take place.

I don't know whether Austin and Heyman were laying the groundwork for a real match to come or if they were just having fun with each other and with every wrestling fan alive, but whatever they were doing, it worked.

Just to see Austin go back into promo mode and talk trash about Lesnar was awesome, and his intimidation of Heyman was great, too.

I'm sure the rumor is already running on top speed after that piece of business Monday night.

Besides that, the podcast was very entertaining. It may not have told you a lot about Heyman and his backstory, but again, he's been on Austin's podcast multiple times and the WWE just released an entire documentary about him last year. There isn't much more ground to cover at this point that hasn't already been covered recently.

Although we didn't learn much new about Heyman other than the fact that he is banned from renting a car in the city of Charlotte, N.C., and the fact that he's never done cocaine, we did learn something new about his pal Lesnar.

We learned Lesnar opened a mini training camp in January to prepare for a return to mixed martial arts in case an agreement could not be reached with the WWE on a new deal. If an agreement wasn't reached, Heyman said that Lesnar would have opened a full camp soon after.

Heyman also said that Lesnar was "very torn" on the decision whether to return to the WWE or return to MMA because he loved his most recent WWE run so much.

As we all know, Lesnar inked a multi-year deal to remain with the WWE in the days leading up to WrestleMania and made that announcement to the world on ESPN of all places.

The most humorous parts of the podcast were Heyman's road stories from yesteryear, especially the one he told about riding in a car with Austin and the late Rick Rude.

Much like the other WWE Network podcast that have come before it, Austin's conversation with Heyman was very entertaining.
