News, notes from NXT conference call with Paul 'Triple H' Levesque

WWE executive Paul "Triple H" Levesque took part in another conference call Tuesday afternoon to promote the latest live special from NXT titled NXT Takeover: Rival.

Here are some news and notes from the call:

Levesque opened the call by briefly addressing the nude photo situation surrounding Seth Rollins. Levesque called the situation an "unfortunate personal incident" and quickly moved on from it.

What Levesque moved on to was revealing that he hopes to have NXT as its own touring brand by either late 2015 or early 2016. He believes that a full touring schedule for NXT will help in the development of the talent, as they will learn what it is like to work in front of different types of crowds.

"That's a true learning component of the business is to do it on the fly and read the crowd and change on the fly," he said.

NXT has recently begun touring outside of the state of Florida.

Although NXT will eventually become its own touring brand, Levesque said that he would like to refrain from infiltrating NXT matches on the main television shows in an effort to keep the developmental product separate from the main one.

The man that runs the main product is obviously Vince McMahon, and Levesque said that McMahon does keep an eye on what is going on in NXT and that he's proud of it.

Levesque was eventually asked about the state of the women's division within NXT and he said that he was very happy with it, as it has helped change the perception of women in wrestling.

Along with the product in the ring, Levesque said that he was also happy with how the #LikeAGirl video turned out. According to Levesque, the video, which debuted Feb. 1, was a last-minute production that played out over the course of only a couple of days leading up to its release.

Levesque was also asked about Hideo Itami and how well he has transitioned to NXT and the WWE. Levesque said that Itami is still adjusting to not only the WWE, but also living in a new country away from his family, but is coming along at a good pace.

Levesque said that he finds himself telling Itami to "Let go. Let loose. I brought you here for a reason. Let me see it. I think he's getting there."

The 13-time world champion was also asked about the scale of the WWE developmental system and how many people it consists of. Levesque said that he likes it to hold anywhere between 65 and 100 prospects, but could comfortably train anywhere between 70 and 80.

Lastly, Levesque was asked about the role of Alex Riley on the NXT commentary team to which he said, "We're making some mild transitions with Alex and he's expressed some different interests. You'll see Alex get some cool opportunities coming up."
