Tria's Fitler Square location – which in April 2015 filled the former Dmitri's at 23rd and Pine Streets – will close sometime this summer as Jon Myerow, David Kwass, and Michael McCaulley have an agreement to sell the bricks and liquor license to Allan Domb, the real estate magnate and city councilman.
"It's just that we want to focus on the best opportunities for Tria," Myerow told me. "We'll miss that location, but this was a good decision for us."
It's business as usual at the Tria location until the sale goes through. Typically, liquor-license transfers take 60 to 90 days.
Tria, whose trademark is the synergistic relationship among beer, wine, and cheeses, is focusing its energies on Tria Wine Garden, an ambitious partnership with Avram Hornik that will yield a large patio at 31 S. 18th St., in the hopping strip of Center City between Chestnut and Market Streets.
Myerow confirmed a report on Foobooz that the transition between Fitler Square's closing and the wine garden's opening will be seamless and that all staffers will be offered jobs at the other Tria locations.
