Puri and Christopher Garzone, who've helped run a slew of bar-restaurants including Westy's in North Wildwood and the Philadelphia outlets of the Table 95 group, have grand-opened The Midtown (114 S. 12th St.), a retooling of Pennsylvania 6. The location has led previous lives as Tweed, Les Bons Temps, TPDS, Odeon, and Bistro Bix.

As The Midtown, it's an American pub with a bar on its first floor and a basic pub menu.

The Garzones, aiming for private parties, exposed windows on the mezzanine and installed a bar in front of it, making it suitable for private cocktail parties in addition to a la carte dining. A third-floor room now has a 75-inch TV screen and seating for 40.

They're starting with dinner, Wednesday to Saturday. Right after Labor Day, Sunday brunch will be added, followed by weekday lunch and expanded dinner hours.
