Smoke’s Poutinerie, the Canadian-based chain specializing in that squeaky-cheese-curd gravy-fry dish called poutine, is finally ready to open its first Philadelphia-area shop, at 411-413 South St.
The deal for the former Subway, a few doors from the new MilkBoy, was cinched last August.
Opening day will be June 21, says Raj Rana, one of the franchisees. He grew up in Toronto.
Smoke’s, which rocks plenty of plaid in its decor, specializes in 30 toppings for its dishes. Menu is here.
On opening day, Smoke’s will give out free snack-size traditional poutine from 11 a.m. to noon and 4 to 5 p.m., as well as T-shirts, stickers, and other swag.
