Four more tenants — three of them home-grown businesses — have been signed for the Bourse Marketplace, the eating hall being developed to open next summer at the Bourse building near Independence Hall.
The roster of tenants now appears to be about half-filled.
There’s Mighty Melt, a grilled-cheese shop, partnering Chris DiPiazza of Mighty Bread Co. and Sam Jacobson of Stargazy, the English pie shop. The difference between Mighty Melt and others of its ilk? “Chris’ bread,” Jacobson said of DiPiazza’s naturally leavened sourdough loaves. “And these are not made on a press, like panini. They’re made on a griddle. Thick-cut, crispy on the outside, almost fluffy inside.” DiPiazza is about to open a brick-and-mortar bakery in South Philadelphia. Jacobson emphasized that Mighty Melt and Stargazy would remain independent.
Also newly signed:
Scoop DeVille, the ice cream shop that has had a Center City presence since 1989; the Baltimore-based Mi & Yu Noodle Bar, which specializes in ramen, udon, and pho; and a branch of West Philly’s Snapdragon Flowers, which bills itself as an alternative flower shop.
All told, the marketplace will have 27 food, beverage, and retail shops, in addition to four anchor tenants.
Previously announced tenants include:
