Diner en Blanc details: It's Aug. 17

More details have dribbled out about the sixth Diner en Blanc, the pop-up summertime picnic.

The date will be Aug. 17 and the guest list will be its largest ever – 5,200 attendees, organizers said this week at the preview party.

Of course, Diner en Blanc's venue is a secret that will only be disclosed shortly before the event. It's previously been held at Logan Circle, the bridge over JFK Boulevard, Avenue of the Arts, the Navy Yard, and the Art Museum.

Organizers say the wait list has grown by 5,100 names and is now up to 41,250 people.

Past participants should watch for their "phase one" invitations in early July. Phases 2 and 3 will follow later in the month. Phase  2 (July 13) includes guests recommended from those who are registered in Phase 1, while Phase 3 includes those on the wait list – it's a lottery.

Culinary partners this year will be Feast Your Eyes Catering, cheese boards from Collective Creamery, and charcuterie from 1732 Meats.
