Zesty's returns to Manayunk

Tom Konidaris is co-branding his old concept into his Munk & Nunn.

This spring, Tom Konidaris flipped his long-running Zesty's in Manayunk into a gastropub called Munk & Nunn.

In doing so, he says he lost his old clientele who missed his Greek cooking.

So now, he's revived the Zesty's brand, much as Bruce Cooper has done nearby with his side-by-side Jake's and Cooper's Brick-Oven Wine Bar.

The Zesty's sign is outside on the west side of the restaurant, where the 45-seat dining room exists. Most of the property is occupied by the Munk & Nunn brand, with the 30-seat bar and church-pew booths.

In addition to the Munk & Nunn menu, he now offers a condensed Zesty's menu made up of entrees with a few large plates from the original Munk & Nunn menu. He also has added Greek and Mediterranean wines to the original "new world" wine list created for Munk & Nunn. Happy hour runs from 5-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, with $3 beers, $4 wines, and $5 cocktails, plus half-priced small plates and mini-personal pizzas with everything priced $4 to $5.
