World of Beer set to open in Exton

While state regs require weekly flushing of an establishment's beer lines, WOB does it between every keg tapping. "That way, you get the beer just as the brewer intended it," the manager said.

Craft-beer franchise World of Beer is fixing to open its first Pennsylvania location in early May in the old barn building in the complex known as Main Street at Exton (103 Woodcutter St.).

General manager Jason Asher promises 50 rotating taps, 500-plus bottles, a cask engine, and an infusion tower. Many local brands will be represented, including Victory, Troegs, Weyerbacher, Stoudts, Conshohocken, Tired Hands, Levante, Yards, and Sly Fox.

And, Asher says, something different: While state regs require weekly flushing of an establishment's beer lines, WOB does it between every keg tapping. "That way, you get the beer just as the brewer intended it," he said.

Lots of bars and brewpubs offer to bottle beer in growler form. WOB has a Crowler machine, which cans 32-ounce beers. Asher says the cans keep their freshness for two weeks.

Menu includes comfort foods and as well as pub fare, such as giant Bavarian pretzels, a Guinness "brat" slider, and a Chimay Burger topped with melted cheese made at the Belgium brewery.

WOB will have a large outdoor patio.

Opening event will be a benefit for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation; stay tuned for details.
