What's to become of The Fountain?

Philadelphia's Four Seasons Hotel will move from Logan Square into the upper floors of the 59-story Comcast Innovation and Technology Center at 18th and Arch Streets in 2017. The fate of the Fountain at the Four Seasons - the power-lunch haven on the Parkway and arguably one of the city's most swellegant destinations - is yet to be determined.

In 2017, Philadelphia's Four Seasons Hotel will open on the upper 12 floors of the $1.2 billion, 59-story Comcast Innovation and Technology Center at 18th and Arch Streets.

But the Fountain at the Four Seasons, the power-lunch haven and arguably one of the city's most swellegant destinations, is not part of the plan. It won't move down the street from its home of 30 years on Logan Square, according to a rep for the hotel.

The new Comcast building, whose hotel will be overseen by Liberty Property Trust and Comcast, will have two entirely new restaurants - one on the ground floor and the other on the 59th. (The top-floor restaurant will unseat R2L, on the 37th floor of Two Liberty Place, as the highest a la carte restaurant in town. The Pyramid Club is on the 52d floor of the BNY Mellon Center, but it's private.)

It will be up to Host - which plans to rebrand the Logan Square property, perhaps as a JW Marriott - to determine whether the Fountain will remain.

"For now, it is too early to determine that," the spokeswoman said, making it clear that it is still business as usual at 1 Logan Square.
