Photos: What's cooking for Center City District Restaurant Week

The fall edition of Center City District Restaurant Week runs from Sept. 11-16 and Sept. 18-23.

More than 100 restaurants will offer $35 fixed-price dinner specials. A contingent also will offer $20 lunches, as well.

Quite often, chefs will build special menus for restaurant week - mainly with an eye toward speed and convenience, but occasionally to showcase a seasonal ingredient.

Among the newcomers:

Aqimero, the posh "coastal Latin" in the Ritz-Carlton hotel (10 S. Broad St.).

Craftsman Row Saloon, the rehab/update of Coco's, the Jewelers Row barroom (112 S. Eighth St.).

Yummy Sushi, a new sushi specialist in the Sterling (1807 JFK Blvd.).

Common Wealth Old City, the Low Country-inspired bar-restaurant (319 Market St.).

Hawthornes, the Bella Vista beer shop/neighborhood eatery (11th and Fitzwater Streets).

SuGa, Susanna and Gabe Foo's Chinese bistro (1720 Sansom St.)

Varga Bar, the corner pub in Washington Square West (941 Spruce St.).

Whetstone Tavern, the traditional American pub in Queen Village (700 S. Fifth St.).
