Want to be ?uestlove's personal chef?

Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson, drummer for the Roots and bandleader on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, is expanding his personal brand, as his manager says.

Part of that expansion involves an undisclosed food project in Philly, his hometown.

He needs a chef.

He's issued a call for professional and amateur chefs to submit 90-second personal videos of themselves by the end of day Friday, March 25. The contestants don't have to be cooking in the videos, but have to exhibit their personality.

After the video is submitted by email, the sender will get an autoreply asking several questions: "List the last three places you worked as a professional chef," "What is your favorite ingredient to use?" and  "What would you make for Questlove if you could only make one dish to be considered as his chef?"

All weekend, he and manager Alexis Rosenzweig will review the auditions and, by next week, select five chefs to compete in an Iron Chef-style cook-off on April 3 at a secret location.

"We’ll have some ingredients and they’ll have a budget to go out and buy what else they need," Rosenzweig said.

Winner will also cook for the band at the Roots Picnic on June 4.

Enter by email at and follow the contest here on Twitter.
