WXTU splits up Evans and Andie

Scott Evans, one-half of the Evans & Andie morning show, has been let go by WXTU (92.5) in what most certainly is a budget move.

I have no idea what WXTU's revenue is like (it's the money that talks, after all), but ratings have been sagging. Among the 25-54 demographic, the morning show was 13th in the February Arbitrons with a 2.7 rating; the morning show was its lowest-rated daypart. By contrast, Evans & Andie pulled a 4.6 rating in February 2008.

Evans, at the country station for 10 years, will receive a six-month severance because of the AFTRA contract. Andie Summers' new sidekick has not been announced but is believed to be working in-house -- perhaps nighttimer Razz or afternooner Kris Stevens. A station rep did not return a call for comment.
