Vision 2020, the national gender-equality conference taking place next month at the National Constitution Center, has landed actresses Geena Davis and Jane Seymour and astronaut Mae Jemison as guests for its “Celebration of American Women” program on Oct. 21.
The 90-minute program is intended as what organizers call a "cheerful pause in the midst of two days of serious debate and discussion about women’s equality."
Davis heads the Geena Davis Institute for Gender in the Media. Jemison, the first African American woman in space, runs two medical technology companies. Seymour's character on the TV series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman attended Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, a predecessor of Drexel University College of Medicine, which is overseeing the conference.
