Two Smashburger shops coming to NJ, and Tacconelli's will move

The burger chain will take the Maple Shade location of Tacconelli's, which plans a move to a larger location in 2014.

Two Smashburger shops coming to NJ, and Tacconelli's will move

Smashburger has been on a roll with growth lately - a stand just opened at Philly International and there are shops in Radnor and Glassboro.

Now I hear about two more locations on their way to South Jersey.

December should see an opening in a new shopping center at 56 Haddonfield Road in Cherry HIll (near Mall Chevrolet).

Mid-March 2014 will see a Smashburger at 450 S. Lenola Rd. in Maple Shade (across from Moorestown Mall). This will be the region's largest, at 84 indoor seats and 20 outside.

The current occupant of the Maple Shade location - Tacconelli's Pizza - will move at the end of the year. Owner Vince Tacconelli told me that he's cinched a new location that is double the current size, at 27 W. Main St. in downtown Maple Shade.

Meanwhile, it's business as usual there.
