Tria on Fitler Square dials back its menu

The location joins the other two Center City locations.

As Tria's Fitler Square location at 23d and Pine Streets marks its first anniversary, it has given up its more ambitious American menu in favor of the lighter fare (snacks, panini, cheese plates, etc.) served at the Tria Cafes at 12th and Spruce Streets and 18th and Sansom Streets. The announcement came Monday in an email blast to customers.

"The cafe is what we do best, and we are going to focus on doing it even better," co-owner Jon Myerow said in a text conversation. "It's what our guests told us they want."

The Fitler Square location will keep its weekend brunch.

Its chef, Karen Nicolas, departed awhile back for a job in Michael Schulson's organization. She will become chef at Harp & Crown, coming to the 1500 block of Sansom Street this summer.

Tria Taproom at 2005 Walnut St. retains its identity.
