Tradesman's, operated by Alex Bokulich (left) and Teddy Sourias, will occupy the southeast corner of Juniper and Chestnut Streets

Tradesman's, specializing in what's described as "regional American BBQ, local/farm-to-table dairy and produce, and American independent craft beer and whiskey," will take the southeast corner of Juniper and Chestnut Streets in Center City. It's the former Greenhouse market in the old Tradesman's Trust Building.

Tradesman's will be the largest restaurant/bar for Craft Concepts Group, which operates BRU Craft & Wurst and U-Bahn next door. Craft's Teddy Sourias and director of operations Alex Bokulich also have Cinder at 15th and Locust Streets, Finn McCool's at 12th and Sansom Streets, and Uptown Beer Garden at 1735 Market St.

Opening is penciled in for late 2017 or early 2018.

Dimitri Armenakis from Lance Kramer & Associates, who designed U-Bahn, Cinder, CinCin, Kitchen Bar, and Nectar, has 6,000 square feet to work with on two levels. The first floor has an open layout and 23-foot vaulted ceilings, a mezzanine, large windows that open out to Chestnut and Juniper Streets, and exposed brick and historical detail in the original ceiling work. It will have a large main bar on the main level, and auxiliary bars on the first and second floors.

Menu will include Carolina pulled pork, Kansas City ribs, West Texas brisket, and California tri-tip, plus local, sustainable produce from such vendors as Greensgrow, Fair Food, and Baldor.

Forty regular beer taps, as well as two hand pump/cask ale handles, will pour exclusively American independent craft beer and cider. Bar will be stocked with about 100 whiskeys from U.S. distillers. Cocktails, too.
