Townsend Wentz leaves McCrossen's

Townsend Wentz, who landed two bells while elevating the fare at the Art Museum-area bar McCrossen's Tavern, is opening his own restaurant.

Chef Townsend Wentz, who landed two bells while elevating the fare at the Art Museum-area bar McCrossen's Tavern, is going his own way.

The Four Seasons alum resigned last week after three years, saying, "I've done all I set out to do there."

He says he plans to open a fine-dining restaurant in the city, and he's narrowed his search to two locations - neither of which he'd disclose. One is a BYOB; the other has a bar.

Opening will be in November, he says.

Stay tuned.
