Timber Wood-Fired Grill, which opened to much promise in July 2010 in the longtime home of Inn Flight restaurant across from Abington Memorial Hospital on Old York Road, has closed.

From what I'm hearing, the neighbors balked at its price points, which were in the mid- to high-$20s at dinner - a step up from its original more modest tabs. It didn't help that manager Michael Dombkoski left last fall; he's now at Paramour in Wayne.

I'm awaiting word from the owner, who I understand is trying to sell the lease.

The liquor license is inactive; state records show that the restaurant paid a $1,250 fine in March for selling alcohol after its license had expired.

Prices were way too high, especially for this area. Quality was just OK and service was never too prompt. Not sure that it'll be missed, though the location is prime for another KitchenBar / Drake Tavern-type place.

I drive past this restaurant twice a day and never had any desire to go in especially when I heard about the high priced mediocre food.

Now I guess everyone gets stuck holding worthless giftcards. Love to find out if the owner owns another local rest.
