The second Federal Donuts sets its opening

Doughnuts and chicken to go Tuesday.

Center City carb fans have their date and time now:

Federal Donuts, the South Philly coffee, donuts-and-fried-chicken shop that's gotten national attention, will open at 1632 Sansom St.

There are 10 counter seats, making this a takeout specialist.

Menu is here.

New  doughnut flavors are promised. It will serve seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. or until the chicken runs out. (Chicken service starts at 11 a.m.) The original location, which opened a year ago, has sold 25,000 orders of the chicken - give or take a cluck.

Doughnuts ($1.25 and $2) come in such flavors as Turkish Mocha, Strawberry-Fennel, Vanilla Spice, Mint Chocolate Cookie, Lemon Bar, Maple Bacon, Green Tea-Sesame, Spicy PB&J and Butter Pecan.

Customers can order a half chicken or six whole wings ($9) or a whole chicken or 12 whole wings ($17) served with honey glaze donuts and Japanese pickles.

Coffee is a special blend from PT's Coffee Roasting Co. of Topeka, Kan.

Federal Donuts is owned by chef Michael Solomonov, restaurateur Steven Cook, coffee aficionados Thomas Henneman and Bob Logue, and food-and-drink specialist Felicia D'Ambrosio.
