SugarHouse Casino to open a beer garden

Seating at Fishtown Hops includes traditional beer garden tables as well as Adirondack chairs next to portable fire pits.

The Delaware Riverfront will get a new outdoor destination on June 22 when SugarHouse Casino opens Fishtown Hops - its own beer garden - on the riverwalk.

Local beers and cocktails will be served.

Groundswell Design Group, which set up Talula's Garden, La Peg, and Spruce Street Harbor Park, did the 150-seat layout. It's that now-familiar look of distressed wood cladding and partitions, zinc-wrapped bars and counters, cable wire railings, and single-bulb pendant lighting. Seating includes traditional beer garden tables as well as Adirondack chairs next to portable fire pits. Corn hole, shuffleboard, and foosball will be available, too.

Fishtown Hops will run from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, noon to 2 a.m. Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through the summer. Happy hours is 5 to 7 p.m. daily. There will be free parking.

Music will include live acts and DJs, and a rotating roster of the food trucks will sell from their windows.
