Stollenwerk's Fish to move again

It's sliding east as the current incarnation becomes a pub.

Earlier this year, Mike Stollenwerk moved Fish - his flagship seafooder - from 17th and Lombard Streets into the corner of 13th and Locust Streets, beneath the Independent Hotel.

The Independent has a smaller space, perfect for a restaurant, on the Locust Street side - basically on the east side of the hotel entrance and in front of the Danny Faulkner memorial.

And effective Tuesday, Oct. 23, that is where Fish will land.

Stollenwerk and his braintrust were considering a boutique steakhouse for the space, but figured that Fish itself was a better fit. It essentially will become its old size - 35 seats - and now will offer front-row seating to the action in the kitchen with an intimate chef's counter seating for five and advanced wine service.

In the weeks following, the space that housed Fish will become a new concept he's calling Rhino Bar - more casual, pub-oriented, vibrant scene - open and serving food till 1 a.m. daily.
