Stephen Starr says he is pulling the plug on Route 6, his 2½-year-old seafooder at Broad and Mount Vernon Streets.
Last night will be Thursday, March 20.
Starr said he was searching for a new concept and chef and planned to open something new there in September.
"At the end of the day, a New England seafood restaurant wasn't the best idea for North Broad Street," Starr told me. "We'll regroup and come back stronger than ever."
Route 6, which opened in November 2011, shares a block with Marc Vetri's bar Alla Spina and Joe Volpe's catering center, Vie. It is the former Wilkie auto dealership at 600 N. Broad St.
