Shifty's Taco - which opened in late summer in Brewerytown - is coming downtown.

And by that, I mean smack in the middle of downtown.

The principals have signed a lease at 1410 Chestnut St., in a former electronics store just off Broad Street and next to Prince Music Theater.

Don't expect a taco lunch anytime in the next six months or so, though.

Partner Jeb Woody says that although some architect's drawings are finished, no actual work has been started.

He said the menu would be identical to the one offered at 2730 W. Girard Ave.
