Billy Cook, Abu-Jamal's brother.

Tigre Hill, who's been working seemingly forever on a documentary about Police Officer Daniel Faulkner's slaying and the conviction of Mumia Abu-Jamal, has released a trailer.

He's hoping to screen "The Barrel of a Gun" to coincide with the 28th anniversary of Faulkner's slaying in December.

In an interview at the outset of the project, Hill intimated that the documentary would not be pro-Mumia. The trailer's opening frame of Ed Asner, an unabashed Mumia supporter, may be misleading.

Hill's last project was "The Shame of a City," about the 2003 mayoral election.

Nope, don't want to see a trailer that would praise a cop killer. I like Ed Asner as an actor, but he's clueless on this cae. He even admitted he never read the trial transcripts. If he is against the death penalty for all, I can live with that. But don't try to make anyone believe that mumia is anything but a murderer who deserved the needle.

OK, first off, he's not a "newsman", he was a part time radio microphone stand and cab driver. The biggest crime is that this scumbag has been alive for the last 28 years while Officer Faulkner has been dead.

mike l...I am not sure that this is necessarily a film "praising" a cop killer. Tigre Hill made a film about the 2003 Mayor's Race in Philadelphia, and he was not kind to people like John Street. But I agree with you re: Ed Asner (you can add Mike Farrell to that as well). They want nothing to do with the facts of the case. They prefer to live in their bubbles.

Actually, the trailer doesn't praise a cop killer at all. I hope that people will watch the trailer before deciding that it favors one side over the other.

One potentially annoying side effect of anything 'Wesley Cook' related is that it reminds the mindless, fact ignoring, biased group of morons to renew the spewing of baseless pro mumia propaganda. I hope the film is fact based.

they better hope that when this movie is released that it does justice To P/O Daniel Faulkner, otherwise they may be awakening a sleeping dragon from the hearts of many people of this once great city. and to praise anyone who's guilty of a murder goes so far past our rights as americans that you POS should be ashamed and not allowed to call yourselves Americans this isn't black and white, that's old news, it's Right and Wrong

I'm against the death penalty in nearly every circumstance, except for the most heinous of crimes. Mumia's execution-style murder of Danny Faulkner certainly qualifies. Mumia should have been executed years ago. What's taking so long?!?

Keep in mind that this is a documentary, not devoid of being bias, even when showing different perspectives, and simply a work of art with specific editing, camera angles, and even a chosen script. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2w_WntxpLE

This punk is a cop killer. No more, no less. He should have been executed years ago. It just goes to show you how gullible people are. The City should name a sewer after him.

Wesley Cook knew he could use his "Mumia" facade to do exactly what he's done for all these years - further build a gap between citizens and police. Ed Ansner, Mike "the Moron" Farrell, and the other "celebrities" who support this murderer should read the facts of the case and the court documents. Cook was shot by Officer Falkner at the scene and was very fortunate that the "evil racist pigs" that were first on the scene afterward didn't finish the job. The idea that anyone supports this man is an embarrassment to mankind.
