Chef chopped at The Saint James

Battered by negative reviews at The Saint James in Ardmore, Michael Schulson has assumed control of the kitchen.

Chef Matt Moon (right), who opened the bistro at Suburban Square in October, was let go.

Schulson, who owns Sampan in Washington Square West and Izakaya in Atlantic City, is in charge until a new chef comes on board.  "I think the world of him as a person," Schulson said of Moon.

Michael Wirzberger, the GM at Sampan, has been brought out to Ardmore to work the front of the house.

Schulson owns The Saint James with Rob Wasserman of Rouge and 500 Degrees.
