Saxbys opening coffee shop near Rittenhouse Square

Homegrown coffee player Saxbys has a deal for the southwest corner of 18th and Chestnut Streets, where by May it expects to open with its new, soon-to-debut branding. It's a former fro-yo shop.

Nearby java players include La Colombe on 19th Street, Joe on Walnut Street across from Rittenhouse Square, another Saxbys at 20th and Walnut Streets, and various and sundry Dunkin' Donuts shops.
A Saxbys rep says its next location, at Millersville University, is set to debut Monday, Jan. 30. It will be student-run, as is the location at Drexel University. He also said the company has a bunch in the pipeline for Center City and University City.
