Sam's: Malaysian food on the Main Line

Owner Scott Sam, whose last restaurant was Pinang Asian Cuisine in Newark, Del,, also offers sushi.

Malaysian cooking - roti canai (crispy pancakes), kari ayam (chicken in coconut curry), and the like - now has a home on the Main Line.

The pleasant Sam's Asian Cuisine (202 Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, 484-417-6008) has replaced Bistro 3o in a mini-strip center between Gerhard's Appliances and a NAPA Auto Parts store. It's BYOB.

Owner Scott Sam, whose last restaurant was Pinang Asian Cuisine in Newark, Del., says he has a Malaysian-born kitchen crew that can adjust the heat of dishes as necessary.

There's a sushi bar, too.

Menu is priced for the area.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
