Rittenhouse area to get a liquor store

It's going into 1515 Locust Street.

The Rittenhouse area, whose liquor store moved from 1913 Chestnut Street to larger quarters at 2040 Market Street three years ago, is getting a new, so-called Premium Collection store.

The Liquor Control Board confirms that it's going into 1515 Locust Street, a storefront at the corner of Sydenham and Locust Streets that has been a Citibank branch of late after many years as a Bertucci's pizzeria. It's also next to Vesper, on Sydenham Street.

An LCB rep said the store would open by the end of the year.

The 1500 block of Locust, now home to Misconduct Tavern and the recently renovated Fado, will see new life next month with Cinder, a beer and cider bar from the crew behind BRU Craft & Wurst, U-Bahn, Finn McCool's, and Uptown Beer Garden.
