The next couple of weeks will see a slew of restaurant openings. Here's a topline:
Burg's Hideaway Lounge (21st and Federal Streets), Dec. 6: Point Breeze developer Ori Feibush owns the bricks of the short-lived Buckminster's, converting it from a cheffy destination into a simple neighborhood bar with a tiny menu.
Res Ipsa (2218 Walnut St.), due Dec. 9: Cafe by morning and noon and sitdown service in the evening, this is a spare but elegant all-day Italian/coffee hybrid owned by Tyler Akin of Stock and Mark Corpus and Mark Capriotti of ReAnimator Coffee. They have the chef's services of Zahav/Stock alumnus Michael Vincent Ferreri.
Baril (267 S. 19th St.), Dec. 6: The former Crow & the Pitcher returns off Rittenhouse Square after a light refurbishing.
Mansion Inn (9 S. Main St., New Hope), Dec. 7: The Bucks County landmark has been refurbished. New chef Denise Gesek, whose resume includes Isabella in Conshohoken, is running the kitchen at Royal T's, the restaurant.
Bluestone Lane coffee shop, now open in the Widener Building on South Penn Square. The grand opening, with specials, will be Dec. 7.
Friday Saturday Sunday (261 S. 21th St.), due Dec. 8: Chef Chad Williams and Hanna Whitaker, both Garces veterans, have taken the Center City institution down to the bare walls and redoing it so it bears no resemblance to the past. Bar is on the first floor, dining is on the second. New American menu. Dinner only, Tuesday to Sunday. Stand by for more details.
City Works Eatery & Pour House (King of Prussia Town Center), Dec. 10: Ninety beers on tap and a contemporary American menu.
Brewery ARS (1729-29 W. Passyunk Ave.), due Dec. 17: Twin brothers/Belgian ale proponents Sean and Andrew Arsenault expect to pour four of their beers at the opening of their brewery/tasting room on West Passyunk.
