Restaurant notes: Steakhouse and pub coming to Cherry Hill

Two landmarks to be filled.

  1. See that construction going on at the former home of Buca di Beppo on Route 38 east of Cherry Hill Mall? There's no sign, but according to Cherry Hill Township records, the new occupant this fall will be a LongHorn Steakhouse, the first in the New Jersey suburbs (though there are a few in Philly and the Pennsy suburbs). LongHorn is Capital Grille's less-expensive sibling and is owned by Darden, whose stable also includes Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, and Seasons 52 -- all abundantly familiar to Cherry Hillers.

  2. In about two months, the former Swanky Bubbles in Cherry Hill's Short Hills Shopping Center will give way to a second location of Dublin Square, an Irish-style pub in Bordentown. Demo work started Thursday (8/12). Co-owner Mike McGeough tells me that it will be done up in Dublin blue with lots of mahogany They're enclosing the patio and plan to install fire pits.
