Restaurant notes: Opa's on (almost); more for NoLibs

The Greek restau-lounge starts training today.

Here's a detail shot of Opa, the Greek restaurant-lounge coming together at 1311 Sansom St., the same block as Time, Bar, and Zavino. (This baby has been in the works for more than a year.) Owners George and Vasiliki Tsiouris start staff training today, with an eye toward opening in the next two weeks with Andrew Brown in the kitchen. (Props to Alex Cohen as well as Drew Lazor of CityPaper's Mealticket for correctly ID-ing the "mystery photo," whose clues were the letter "O" and the Greek use of blue in the motif.) Designer is Jun Aizaki of Creme, whose work includes JG Domestic and Zama.

Owen Kamihira of Bar Ferdinand and El Camino Real is looking for a spring opening of a sandwich shop next to Bar Ferdinand, on the Second Street side. No name yet, but he's planning 12 to 15 sandwiches, 10 to 12 beers, and picnic-style seating.
